The Oscars

Here is a quick sum up of my favorite beauty and fashion looks of the night. I won't even go into how hard I laughed at the unmentionable song..... ahem. Jennifer Lawrence's face. Priceless. I thought everyone looked gorgeous, but I particularly loved these more simple, less bling-y, feminine looks.

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dion Haute Couture Spring 2013
Charlize Theron in Christian Dior Haute Couture
Samantha Barks in Valentino
Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive
Amanda Seyfried in Armani Prive
Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott
Amy Adams in Oscar De La Renta

cultural musings: Vietnam

I decided to do this collage because of the Diptyque perfume Do Son, which was inspired by a mans memory of when he was a boy in Vietnam, and the smell of his mothers tuberose perfume mixing with the scents off the pagoda. The result is a wonderful mix of floral and aquatic.

beachy-anytime

If you're like me, right about when February hits, summer starts sounding really nice. While you probably can't break out the shorts and sandals just quite yet, you can pull aspects from beachy looks, (tousled hair, pastels, minimalistic and flowy outfits) and get something that channels the seaside as much as a swimsuit and a wrap. Or at least gets pretty close.

skincare routine

This isn't really a skincare routine post, but more of the products I rotate between, I use different ones depending on what I feel like my skin needs. I have pretty normal skin, not dry usually, if anything slightly oily. These products are keeping my skin mostly trouble free.
products left to right

st ives green tea scrub (
yes to cucumbers gentle milk cleanser ( for when my skin is dry)
formula 10.0.6. so totally clean (I use this to take off my makeup before I wash my face.)
Burt's Bees garden tomato toner (this keeps my redness down, and seriously decreases blackheads.
Burt's Bees radiance eye cream with royal jelly (moisturizing, but dries to a matte finish)
Mario Badescu drying lotion (quickly gets rid of spots)
formula 10.0.6. deep down detox mud mask ( makes skin feel super soft and clear, clears skin, and smells lovely)
Yes to cucumbers daily calming moisturizer (keeps skin soft and doesn't cause breakouts)
Simple eye makeup remover (doesn't irritate eyes)

mood musings: neal caffrey, white collar

My recent crime show fix has been White Collar, discovered thanks to my dad. I think Neal and Kate are the most gorgeous couple, I was so sad she dies. Anyway, I think Neal has possibilities for awesome fashion inspiration. Don't laugh, I know he's a guy. But that doesn't mean we can't translate his fedora wearing, jewel loving(or stealing) self, and Kate's gorgeous makeup and hair into wearable, legal outfits.  Here's my take.
