New blog is up!

https://snowgeishabeauty.wordpress.com/ I'm very happy with my new blog, I feel like I have rather found my footing in the blogging world, and found what I like doing, and for some reason for me, that included starting fresh. Here goes!

Moving and Shaking

So, it's decided. I'm starting a new blog. I'm going to revamp, and move back to Wordpress. I think it's just time for a change of scenery and a slightly new and refreshed direction. In a bit I'll post the link to the new site, I hope to see you over there!

review and swatch: Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow quad in addictive

This is a really great, neutral palette for all skin tones, it's also great for eyebrows and contouring. It's pretty matte, some very mild shimmer, and definitely some of the best drugstore eyeshadows I've tried.
Matte eyeshadows I always find are less pigmented than shimmers ( why is that) even in high end options, so I can't really criticize revlon for this.

Pigmentation: 7 out of 10 (for matte-ish eyeshadows)

Packaging: 7 out of 10

Wear time: 10 of 10

Shades: 10 of 10

review: Korres mattifying primer

I am just generally obsessed with anything from Greece, so it's no wonder I love this brand, but there are so many wonderful things about it besides the fact it's based in my favorite country. Korres is a natural company that keeps any unnecessary stuff out of their products. And everything of theirs smells amazing. Like, I am not kidding, and this primer is no exception. This is a silicone free primer that keeps skin shine free all day. There is a really sheer tint to it that works for even the palest people.

Packaging: 10 out of 10
Functionality: 10 out of 10
Scent: 10 out of 10

review and swatch: wet n wild palette comfort zone

I'll keep this pretty short because there are som many reviews of this, so to the main things.
Texture: 10 out of 10
Pigmentation: 10 out of 10
Packaging: 5 out of 10
Color selection: 8 out of 10
These may crumble a bit if you travel a lot, but the soft texture more than makes up for it. These remind me a lot of stila eyeshadows, and I think they could hold their own with any high end shadows.

contouring 101- skin tone savers

If you are pale like me, and you like to contour, you know, bronzed is sometimes just code for really orange. Now, sometimes, a deliberately contoured golden toned brown is a good thing. But if you are doing a cooler makeup look, that just distracts. I have found, that using a very neutral leaning lavender eye shadow is key. Is looks like a real shadow, not eye shadow.
On the other hand, if you have a darker skin tone, you may want to stick with the warmer brown colors that will look much more natural on your skin. Using a matte contouring color, and then sweeping a shimmery bronzer or highlighter will give it a less obvious glow.
